BATON ROUGE, La. – The Win EBR Transition Team announced the inauguration ceremony for East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Elect Sid Edwards will be held Jan. 2, 2025, at 5 p.m. in the River Center Theater for the Performing Arts, located at 220 St. Louis Street in downtown Baton Rouge.
Edwards will become the 20th person sworn in as Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish.
Admission to the ceremony is free and open to the public, but attendees are being asked to RSVP at info@WinEBR.LA to assist planners.
A clear bag policy will be in effect, with doors opening at 4 p.m. Paid public parking is available on the street and in nearby garages.
The event is expected to be attended by a host of state and parish-wide elected officials, members of the EBR Parish Metro Council, local officials and business leaders, family and friends of the Mayor-President Elect, as well as the general public.
“There is truly a sense of excitement across the city as we reach out to people about getting involved with the positive change we hope to implement. We hope our citizenry will join us in celebrating this historic event,” Win EBR Transition Team Chair Sen. Rick Edmonds said.
Edmonds said an invitation-only reception will be held at the Tiger Stadium South Club following the ceremony.
